Open-source licenses
The web image optimizer decodes HEIC and HEIF photos in your browser with libheif and libde265. These libraries are free software under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 (LGPL-3.0). RumDash uses them without changes.
Components and source code
The files below are the complete source code for the exact versions that RumDash ships. We host them here so that they stay available for as long as we ship these versions.
| Component | License | Source |
|---|---|---|
| libheif 1.23.2 | LGPL-3.0 | libheif-1.23.2.tar.gz (upstream) |
| libde265 1.0.15 | LGPL-3.0 | libde265-1.0.15.tar.gz (upstream) |
| libheif-emscripten 1.23.2 | Build scripts | libheif-emscripten-1.23.2.tar.gz (upstream) |
| libheif-js 1.23.2 | LGPL-3.0 | libheif-js-1.23.2.tar.gz (upstream) |
How the library is built
libheif-emscripten 1.23.2 compiles libheif and libde265 to WebAssembly with Emscripten
3.1.61. libheif-js 1.23.2 packs that build into one JavaScript module, libheif-bundle.mjs.
Use your own build
The web image optimizer loads libheif-bundle.mjs
as a separate, unchanged file when you add your first HEIC or HEIF image. You can use a
changed version of these libraries instead. Build a module with the same interface, then
serve it in place of our file, for example with your browser's local overrides.
Nothing in our Terms of Service limits your rights under these licenses. You may change these libraries, and you may reverse engineer RumDash to debug your changes.
License texts
LGPL-3.0 adds permissions to the GNU General Public License, version 3, so both texts apply.
